A4i Secures $100,000 in Non-Dilutive Funding to Advance AI Analytics for Mental Health Risk Detection
A4i (App4Independence), an innovative digital platform supporting individuals with complex behavioral health needs, has secured $100,000 CAD in non-dilutive funding from Toronto Innovation Acceleration Partners (TIAP) in partnership with OBIO®. This funding, part of OBIO’s Life Sciences Critical Technologies & Commercialization (LSCTC) Centre of Excellence “De-Risking of Emerging Technologies and Venture Creation” funding stream, will accelerate A4i’s development of AI-powered analytics tools designed to detect early signs of relapse, augment peer-support and reduce hospital readmission rates among patients with severe mental illness.
A4i Selected for Prestigious Startup Immersion Program with Plug and Play Canada and OCIF
A4i (The App4Independence) is proud to announce its selection to join the esteemed Startup Immersion Program, run by Plug and Play Canada in collaboration with the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF). As part of this program, A4i’s CEO, Amos Adler, will head to Silicon Valley to pitch the company’s innovative solutions at the Plug and Play Tech Center Summit from November 19-21, 2024, followed by additional programming in the Bay Area the following week.
A4i x Royal x EAHN Collaboration
A4i, a leading digital platform for supporting people with complex behavioural and mental health conditions, completed a one-year evaluation project with The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre (The Royal), one of Canada’s leading mental health care and research centres. With funding support from OBIO’s Early Adopter Health Network (EAHN™), A4i and The Royal worked together exploring the feasibility of integrating the A4i app and clinical portal into clinical practice. The team at A4i along with The Royal’s managers, clinicians and clients supported the implementation of the technology platform within the Ozerdinc Grimes Family Regional Psychosis Clinic.

A4i, a leading digital platform for supporting people with complex behavioural and mental health conditions, has initiated beta testing of A4i-O, their digital platform to support the recovery process in opioid use disorder (OUD). Beta testing is happening in partnership with The Centre of Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Canada’s leading mental health and addictions hospital system.
